BLOOD OATH
A moving and gripping story begins when Uroš Perić, an ordinary family man from Belgrade, is involved in a traffic accident while driving a van on a business trip in Montenegro. The accident is caused by a young woman, the daughter of Dardan Berisha, a dangerous Balkan mafia boss living in Ulcinj.
This fateful event, beyond anyone’s control, forever intertwines the lives and destinies of two completely different men. Throughout the series, they become connected and unexpectedly grow closer. Dardan gives Uroš his besa, a sacred oath that must be honored even at the cost of one’s life, promising to protect Uroš’s family from a blood feud after Uroš carries out five murders on his behalf. Once this is done, Uroš will be a free man again.
The second season of Blood Oath (Besa) takes place three years after Uroš Perić received his final assignment from Albanian mafia boss Dardan Berisha: to kill Inspector Petrit Koci in order to redeem his own life. Uroš and his family find themselves in a completely unexpected situation, while Dardan and Interpol Inspector Petrit Koci become entangled in unforeseen twists and circumstances. Defying his father’s wishes, the revenge-driven Driton Berisha returns to Ulcinj, setting in motion a chain of events that raises the question of whether it is always possible to keep one’s word and protect one’s family.
Blood Oath was created from an original concept by Srđan Šaper. Filming took place at more than 200 locations across Estonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, and other countries.
An expert jury, named the series Best TV Series of 2019, awarding it with the Golden Antenna Award for Best Series, as well as awards for Best Original Score (composer Nemanja Mosurović) and Best Cinematography (director of photography Igor Šunter).
As a format, Blood Oath has been sold to several international markets, including the Middle East and Asia.
