THE DUEL

The Duel (Dvoboj) is a feature film told from the perspective of the restless spirit of Leposava Mijušković, a forgotten poet from Jagodina at the beginning of the twentieth century. The story unfolds across three timelines: Switzerland (1951), Zurich (1901), and Jagodina (1910 – 1914).

Through the story of two women who defied the conventions of their time – Leposava Mijušković, a poet of untamed spirit, and Ljubica Rakić, a schoolteacher who fights her inner battles in silence – the film explores themes of personal liberation, impossible love, and the collision of past and present.

The project is currently in development and has received support from the Film Centre Serbia through its screenplay development and project development funding programs.
