Superpotera rules

Rules and Regulations of the Quiz Show “Superpotera”

“Superpotera” (original title: Beat the Chasers) is a licensed, competitive television quiz show produced by ITV. In the first solo round, contestants answer multiple-choice questions to secure a potential starting prize fund.

If a contestant successfully secures a certain amount of money in the first solo round, they continue to the next round for a chance to win a cash prize by playing against two, three, four, or all five Chasers.

1. General Provisions
“Superpotera” will air once a week on RTS1, with a duration of up to 60 minutes.

Any citizen of the Republic of Serbia aged 18 or over with permanent residency in the Republic of Serbia has the right to participate in “Superpotera”.

RTS specifies that the following people are not eligible to participate in “Superpotera”:

• RTS employees or their immediate family members.
• Employees of the production company “Adrenalin,” their external collaborators engaged on the “Superpotera” project, or their immediate family members.
• Employees of any potential “Superpotera” sponsors or their immediate family members.
• Citizens of the Republic of Serbia, aged 18 or over, with permanent residency in the Republic of Serbia who are facing or are about to face criminal prosecution under the laws of the Republic of Serbia.

(The term “immediate family” refers to: parents, siblings, spouses, children, adopted children, and grandchildren, as well as all members of the same household for the individuals, including permanent and occasional external collaborators of the TV crew engaged on the “Superpotera” project.)

For each episode of “Superpotera”, up to 5 new potential candidates and a maximum of 2 stand-ins (reserves) are selected according to a pre-determined contestant selection procedure. Contestants and reserves must attend all preliminary activities and rehearsals before the taping of the episode for which they were invited.

1. Game Rules
“Superpotera” is a 60-minute television quiz show with a host and a studio audience.

Gameplay Flow

Each contestant has a chance to win a cash prize if they can beat the Chasers in an alternating game of rapid-fire general knowledge questions.

Round 1: The contestant secures a potential cash amount in a solo game by answering multiple-choice questions.

Round 2: Provided they have secured a certain amount of cash in the solo game, the contestant continues the competition for a chance to win a cash prize by playing against two, three, four, or all five Chasers.

Details of Round 1 – The Cash Builder

• The contestant answers up to five multiple-choice questions.
• Each question has three possible answers, only one of which is correct.
• The contestant has 3 seconds before the host asks for their answer.
• The contestant must state their answer to the host.
• Contestants must not take extra time to think and must give their answer as soon as the host asks. If a contestant doesn’t immediately give their answer when prompted, the production may decide that the contestant has passed, and this will be counted as an incorrect answer. The decision to count an answer as incorrect is at the sole discretion of the production team.
• Once a contestant has given an answer, they cannot change it.
• With each correct answer, the contestant secures an additional 20,000 dinars.
• If a contestant answers the first multiple-choice question incorrectly, they are eliminated from the show and cannot proceed to Round 2. If a contestant answers the first question correctly but the second one incorrectly, they have secured 20,000 dinars and proceed to Round 2.
• The contestant can answer a maximum of five multiple-choice questions, so the maximum amount they can earn and carry into Round 2 is 100,000 dinars.

Details of the Lead-in to Round 2 – The Offers

Any contestant who secures money in Round 1 proceeds to Round 2.
In Round 2, the contestant receives four offers:

• The first offer is to play against two Chasers.
• The second offer is to play against three Chasers.
• The third offer is to play against four Chasers.
• The fourth offer is to play against all five Chasers.

Each offer consists of two elements: time and a cash amount. The TIME refers to the number of seconds on the Chasers’ clock, and the CASH AMOUNT is the money the contestant wins if they defeat the Chasers.
The cash amount in the first offer is always the amount the contestant secured in Round 1. Generally, the Chasers’ time and the CASH AMOUNT will increase with each subsequent offer, but they can sometimes remain the same.
All offers will be given at the production team’s discretion and are non-negotiable.
After receiving all four offers, the contestant must clearly state their choice to the host.
A contestant can only choose one offer and cannot change their mind.
After the contestant selects an offer, they proceed to Round 2.

Details of Round 2 – Beat the Chasers

After the contestant chooses an offer, they compete against the Chasers as follows:

• The contestant will always have 60 seconds on their clock.
• The Chasers will have the time determined by the offer the contestant chose.
• The contestant will be asked the first question.
• The contestant’s clock starts as soon as the host begins reading the first question.
• When the contestant gives a correct answer, their clock stops, and the Chasers’ clock starts.
• The host will not ask the next question until the contestant either answers the first question or says “pass.”
• If the contestant says “pass” or answers the first question incorrectly, their time continues to run, and the host will ask them the next question.
• Questions will be asked to the contestant until they give a correct answer.
• After the contestant provides a correct answer, the host will ask a question to the Chasers.
• The Chasers’ clock will start as soon as the host begins reading the first question intended for them.
• When one of the Chasers gives a correct answer, their clock stops, and the contestant’s clock restarts.
• If a Chaser says “pass” or answers incorrectly, the Chasers’ clock continues to run, and the host will keep asking questions until the Chasers provide a correct answer.
• The game continues in this manner until one side expires.
• The Chasers work as a team but must individually press a button to signal their answer and wait for their name to be called before they give their answer.
• If a Chaser answers before buzzing in, it will be considered a pre-buzz answer and will not be accepted, even if correct.
• If a Chaser answers before buzzing in, and then another Chaser buzzes in on the same question and gives the same answer, both answers will be considered incorrect.
• If a Chaser, other than the name of one whose name was called, answers the question, the answer will be counted as a wrong answer for the Chasers and will not be accepted, even if correct.
• If the Chaser who buzzed in does not answer, answers incorrectly, or decides to say “pass,” the other Chasers do not have an opportunity to answer the same question. The host will give the correct answer to that question and begin reading the next one.
• The host will not move on to the next question until a Chaser buzzes in and, after buzzing in, gives an answer or says “pass.”
• If a contestant or Chaser gives an answer after their time has expired, the answer will not be considered valid.
• If a contestant or a Chaser does not hear the question correctly, they can ask for it to be repeated.
• All questions written by the creative team have been verified by at least two (2) independent sources.
The game ends when either the contestant’s or the Chasers’ time runs out:

• If the contestant’s clock runs out first, they go home with no money.

• If the Chasers’ clock runs out first, the contestant wins the cash amount specified in the offer they chose.

General

The show is taped in a set number of recording sessions. A taping date is assigned to the contestant according to a pre-determined taping schedule. It is not guaranteed that a contestant will play on their assigned date. The production team may move the contestant to another date. The production team reserves the right not to air a contestant’s performance.

Upon arriving at the studio, contestants must immediately hand over all communication devices (including mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, and anything else with an internet connection). The devices will be returned after taping. Any contestants who do not hand over such devices may, at the discretion of the production team, be disqualified from participating in the show.

III.  Contestant Selection

Application Process

Contestants for the “Superpotera” quiz can apply by filling out a questionnaire available on the websites www.rts.rs and adrenalin.co.rs.

After candidates apply in this way, the production team will contact them for a phone test and to supplement the information from the questionnaire. They will also be asked to provide a 60-second video introduction.

General Provisions on Contestant Selection

All selected contestants and reserves must arrive at the studio on the day of taping at the exact time specified. They must bring a valid photo ID to the taping. If it is discovered that a potential contestant has provided incomplete or incorrect information (citizenship, age, family relations, criminal prosecution, etc.), the production team will immediately disqualify the contestant from the show.

All selected contestants and reserves are required to provide a written statement confirming they are aware of the Rules and Regulations of the “Superpotera” quiz and that they will fully abide by them during the competition.

The production team may also decide to disqualify a contestant who behaves inappropriately.

If the production team decides to disqualify or remove a contestant, one of the previously selected reserves will take their place. The decision on which reserve contestant will replace the disqualified contestant is made by the production team.

1. Prizes

All prizes won in the “Superpotera” quiz will be individually paid to the contestants into their current bank account at a bank in the Republic of Serbia.

All prizes won in the “Superpotera” quiz are subject to tax in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia and are paid as a net amount.

“Adrenalin” production, as the organizer of the “Superpotera” quiz show, is obligated to pay the prizes won to the contestants within 60 days of the date the episode in which the contestant won the prize is aired.

1. Final Provisions

If a contestant believes that something during the taping was not in line with the provisions of these Rules and Regulations, or that they were harmed due to a violation of these provisions, they must react immediately on the spot and request an explanation or intervention from the production team and the host. Otherwise, it will be considered that the contestant has no objections to the regularity of the competition.

In the event of any technical problems, force majeure, or deficiencies during taping that prevent the game from proceeding according to these Rules and Regulations, the editorial team has the authority to decide how to resolve the issue.

After the deficiencies or problems are identified and resolved, the production team may decide on the spot to continue the taping from where it was interrupted. The production team can also decide to annul part of the taping and move the contestant back a step, or even to start over from the beginning with new questions.

The competition will then continue according to the same Rules and Regulations.

In all potentially disputed situations during the competition (taping of the show), the decisions of the production team are authoritative.

The production team reserves the right to amend and supplement the quiz rules.
