If you are a quiz lover, you have surely heard that Superpotera is coming soon, but do you know how it differs from Potera, which we follow every Monday? First, there’s no reason to worry because Potera will continue to air at its well-known time – Mondays at 9 PM on the first program of RTS, while the airing time for Superpotera will be revealed soon.
To help you prepare for the first episode of the new format, we will explain the differences between “Potera” and “Superpotera.”
The number of contestants and Chasers.
Potera: four contestants against one Chaser.
Superpotera: one contestant against multiple Chasers.
Although the Superpotera format allows for competition against up to five Chasers, the production company Adrenalin, which collaborates with RTS to produce this quiz, has decided to in honor of the recently deceased Milorad Milinković, leave his position on the Chaser’s team vacant. Therefore, in Superpotera, contestants will measure their knowledge against the well-known Chasers Milica Jokanović, Žarko Stevanović, and Milan Bukvić, as well as one new face previously announced as the mysterious fifth Chaser, whose name is still unknown.
What do the first and second games look like?
Potera: each contestant goes through two games, the first in which they answer “quick” questions and the second in which they “run away” from the Chaser trying to transfer a certain amount of money into the shared pot.
Superpotera: in the first round, the contestant answers up to five questions, choosing from three provided answers, and each correct answer earns them the same monetary amount. The contestant answers until they make a mistake. If they answer all five questions correctly, then they enter the second game with the maximum guaranteed cash amount. However, if he/she does not answer the first question correctly, he/she is out of the game. The second game is a challenge with the Chasers when the contestant faces a crucial decision – how many Chasers they want to play against (two, three, or four), for what amount, and for how long. The more chasers there are on the opposing team, the greater the sum of money the contestant can win, but also the longer the time the Chasers have to answer their questions.
Questions for the contestant and questions for the Chasers
Potera: the contestant and the Chaser answer the same questions and within the same time “frame.”
Superpotera: while the selected time runs out, the host reads questions alternately – first to the contestant, then to the Chasers. The game is always started by the contestant. If he answers the question correctly, his time stops and time starts running for the Chasers. In case the contestant gives a wrong answer, his time continues to run until he answers the question correctly. The winner is the side that has time left at the end of the game, even if it’s a single second.
Prizes
While in Potera the contestants share the prize money equally regardless of individual contribution, in Superpotera everyone fights for themselves. The challenge ahead of the competitors is significantly greater, but the enticing reward is only theirs! Those who successfully contend with all the Chasers are promised seven-figure sums. The challenge is no less for the Chasers, who are used to playing solo in Potera, and now will have to work as a team, which will put their competitive spirit to the test and may lead to clashes.
Audience
While Potera takes place in a more intimate atmosphere, Superpotera is filmed in a large studio filled with an audience whose cheering will further enhance the tense atmosphere, while also providing support to both the contestants and the Chasers.
The audience in front of their TV screens will be in the same position while watching both quizzes, able to test their knowledge, shout out the correct answer from their armchairs, and have a great time with Jovan Memedović and the Chaser team.
